LENScience Face-to-Face Programmes begin for 2014

The first school to participate in the fully-booked LENScience Face-to-Face programmes for 2014 is Birkenhead College. Year 13 Biology students will explore the role that the fetal environment plays in determining later health.
Students will participate in:
• discussions on current research related to developmental programming,
• biotechnology techniques including PCR and gel electrophoresis,
• and meet with scientists to learn about their career path and experiences in the research industry.

Birkenhead College Year 12 Dean and Science Teacher Alison Purdie, and HOD Science Nick Kingston will work with the students at LENScience and continue the learning in the school setting. Birkenhead College have been engaging with LENScience Partnership Programmes since 2007.

Bookings for the LENScience Face-to-Face programmes have now closed for 2014; with a jam-packed schedule locked in.
