LENScience

Teachers

Teachers play a key role in the development of scientific and health literacy, and scientific capability in our communities. Subject specific professional development allows teachers to regularly update their knowledge in order to inform their teaching.

Participation in professional development relating to science, pedagogy and social issues is essential for 21st century science, health and social science education practitioners. All LENScience programmes are supported by professional development, providing opportunities for teachers, teacher trainees, scientists and science advisors to explore relevant pedagogical, scientific and social issues. Programmes are designed to allow teachers and scientists to tailor participation to their professional needs.

Workshops and seminars are either Face-to-Face or via the award winning LENScience Connect platform. LENScience Connect allows teachers from throughout New Zealand and the Pacific to engage together in our interactive professional development e-learning programmes.
