World Diabetes Day in the Cook Islands

15 November 2017
WDD-CI_Poster_2017

To mark World Diabetes Day (14 November) our colleagues at the Cook Islands Ministry of Health distributed a poster drawing attention to women's health and diabetes. The poster highlights the importance of the health of women and girls for the prevention of diabetes and found its way into most Cook Islands households through a double-page spread in Saturday's Cook Islands News. The poster also highlights the community-based work that the Liggins Institute is involved in with the Ministries of Health and Education in the Cook Islands, facilitating school-based programmes that are empowering teenagers as agents of positive lifestyle change in Cook Islands communities.

The poster can be viewed here.
